Setting up long service leave for employees

Configure Long Service Leave (LSL) in Payroll to automatically accrue leave and track employee entitlement dates.

Set Up Long Service Leave

  1. Go to Payroll Settings, Leave Categories.

  2. Select the existing Long Service Leave category, or click Add to create a new one.

  3. Under Leave Category Type, select Long Service Leave.

  4. Configure the following:

    • Contingent Period – The period after which Long Service Leave may be paid out under certain circumstances.

    • Entitlement Period – The period after which an employee becomes eligible to take Long Service Leave.

  5. Save your changes.

Employee Entitlements

Once Long Service Leave is assigned to an employee:

  • The employee's entitlement date is displayed in their leave details.

  • The entitlement date is also shown in the pay run, making it easy to identify when the employee becomes eligible.

  • Long Service Leave continues to accrue automatically.

  • Employees can only take Long Service Leave and view it on their pay slips after reaching their entitlement date.
